Have you picked your 1st Dance Song yet?
If you’re like 90% of brides, you won’t have. In fact, it will probably be one of the last things you organise.
Well, here’s some food for thought. The song you choose to dance to for your 1st dance can have a massive impact on the tone of your wedding reception.
Here are some questions to ask yourself to help you narrow down your hunt for the perfect song.
- Does the song make you and your fiancé smile each time you hear it?
- Does it define you as a couple? Ie Does it make your heart sing?
- What do you want your guests to be thinking of you while you’re dancing?
- What sort of dance do you want? Something flashy and fabulous?
Something slow and romantic? Or a little of both…..

In some cases, you may love the lyrics however the version played on the radio might not be quite right for you. Instead, have a listen to some covers of the song. While you’re doing this google the lyrics. Read them carefully to make sure they’re right for your 1st dance. You don’t want to be dancing to a pretty song that is actually about heart break! Either way make sure it’s a song that makes your heart sing and you can’t go wrong.
